The Commute Home

Now I’ve got the hang of the trams, I look forward to my commute to and from work.
Every day there’s something new to see and not being so worried about where I need to get off, or pulling the cord on the tram, I’m much happier just looking, taking it all in, enjoying the tram life.

I’m teaching in quite an affluent area of Melbourne, by all accounts, and certainly the amount of private schools and the grandeur of some of the houses I go past seem to agree.
Some of the houses are beautiful – Gothic looking awnings, beams and country architecture, houses with character.
Some of them are just ostentatious.

The roads still scare me sometimes.
Trams look like they could do a fair bit of damage.
But it’s a nice enough ride.
